born in England in 1891. He studied at the Univ of Manchester and Cambridge. Chadwick is best know for his discovery of the Neutron. He named it the neutron because it lacked a charge. Chadwick was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for physics in 1935 and was also awarded the Hughes Model of the Royal Society in 1932. His discovery made it possible to create with a greater mass than uranium in the laboratory. Because of Chadwick's discovery, "nuclear fission" was discovered.
